Acceptance process of foreign technical interns

1  Consultation, hearing and application

  If you are a construction company in the Tokai region and are interested in ac-cepting foreign technical interns, please contact our association. We will ex-plain the outline of our association and that of the technical intern training system for foreign nationals, the conditions required for the accepting compa-ny, necessary procedures, etc.
  If you are considering accepting a specific request, we will ask you about the details.
  If you decide to accept foreign technical interns, you need to apply to be part our association.

2  Recruitment

  After you apply, we will immediately request the local sending organization to start the recruitment process. Then, we screen the documents for the on-site interview and select the candidates.

3  On-site interview

  The company’s person responsible for the application and the representative of the association will visit the local sending organization and meet directly with the technical intern candidates and select them.
  Our association and the local sending organization will fully support the ar-rangements and preparations to carry out the interpretation by our Myanmar employees and on-site interviews.
  If you select an intern who meets your needs, you will sign a contract with him/her.
  We will adjust the interview contents according to the request of the company.

4  Preparation for entry

  Application for a technical intern training plan, authorization of residence sta-tus, application for visa, etc.
  It will take at least 6 months for the procedures to be completed before the technical interns can enter the country after they are hired through a local in-terview.
  We apply for the "technical intern training plan" and other documents prepared by the company to the Japan Technical Internship Organization. If the plan is approved, you need to apply for authorization of residence status and visa at the Immigration Bureau. Our association also supports the submission of doc-uments.

5  On-site training for technical interns

  Technical interns will start the on-site training after they are hired.
  While our association and the company process the entry formalities, the tech-nical interns will be enrolled at a local school for 6 months to study Japanese language, life and culture in Japan, and construction skills.

6  Entry to Japan

  When technical interns enter Japan, our association will meet them at the air-port and guide them to the dormitory where they will stay during the group training.

7  Group training after entry

  After entering Japan, the technical interns will participate in group training for about a month at a school adjoined to the dormitory in order to learn about the communication and practical training required at the training site.
  While living in Japan, the technical interns will learn the Japanese language and lifestyle again.

8  Preparation of accepting company

  The accepting company is required to prepare a support system for housing ac-commodation, daily life and a working environment for the placement of the technical interns. Our association will also assist you with these preparations.

9  Assignment

  On the day of the assignment, our association will take the technical interns to the company. Before we start accepting, we will explain the precautions again.
  After the assignment, the technical intern training will start. We will continue to support both the accepting companies and technical interns after they are assigned.
  During the technical intern training, our association will regularly visit the accepting company and interview both the accepting company and the technical interns. If we find a problem, we will help you solve it.
  Technical intern trainees must pass the "basic level" skill test (practical skill and academic test) once they complete the technical Intern training (1). They must also pass the "Grade 3 at any time" technical skill test (practical test) once they complete the technical intern training (2). We mainly support companies so that they can pass the "technical skill test" during their technical intern training.

Acceptance process of specified skilled workers

Specified skilled workers (specified skilled worker (i)) are eligible if they have completed the technical intern training (2) or if they have passed the special skills test. In principle, specified skilled workers are directly employed by companies that wish to accept them (hereinafter the accepting company). As a registration support organization, we provide employment and stability sup-port.

2  Recruitment

  We will ask you to recruit specified skilled workers. Candidates for specified skilled workers may reside overseas or within Japan.

3  Selection and Contracts

  Candidates for specified skilled workers who have passed the special skills test will apply for job offers or get placements from private employment agencies.
  Please select the right candidate through an interview (if the candidate lives abroad, you will travel to the country with the representative of our associa-tion and conduct interviews).
  After the selection and with the support of our association, the accepting com-pany and the specified skilled workers will sign an employment contract.
  Contracted specified skilled workers are required to receive guidance from our association and undergo a medical examination.

4  Obtaining a visa

  Our association applies for and obtains the "authorization of resident eligibil-ity" at the Immigration Bureau and mails it to the specified skilled workers.
  With the support of our association, specified skilled workers should bring a Certificate of Eligibility and should apply for a visa.

5  Preparation of the accepting company

  The accepting company will prepare a support system for housing accommoda-tion and daily life, and a working environment to start working. Our associa-tion will also assist you with these preparations.
  Specified skilled workers should move to the dormitory of the accepting com-pany. If specified skilled workers live abroad, they need to go to Japan. The representative of the accepting company will meet them at the airport and guide them to the dormitory.

6  Entry

  With the support of our association, specified skilled workers apply for and re-ceive a "residence card" at the local governments. They also register with the construction career up advancement system.
  With the support of our association, the accepting company will provide speci-fied skilled workers with 8 hours or more of lifestyle guidance.
  Specified skilled workers will start working at the accepting company. Even af-ter they start working, the association will provide the following assistance as required by law.

-Life orientation program
-Support for learning Japanese for daily life
-Responding to consultations and complaints
-Support for various administrative procedures
-Job changing support for involuntarily leave workers
